Disa x "Watsonii Candy"
This magnificent orchid lives in very rainy and humid areas with temperatures above 0 degrees up to 25-28 degrees. It likes abundant direct sun all year round but in the hot months it can be slightly sheltered because it does not like excessively high temperatures. It can be grown as a marsh plant, with water in the saucer but not abundant as in sarracenia: a cm in the saucer in summer will be enough and half a cm in winter or even less, as long as the soil is moist. It is better to use demineralized or rain water but it also tolerates tap water. Do not fertilize but repot it every spring. The ideal soil for this orchid is the mix for terrestrial orchids and nepenthes proposed in the materials section composed of dehydrated sphagnum, bark, peat and perlite. Very porous, aerated but at the same time with a high degree of humidity.
